In the morning drive south through the Avenue of the Volcanoes to visit one of the local markets *(Saquisilí or Pujilí) to continue to the base of the Cotopaxi volcano, the highest active volcano in the world at 5,897m. Cotopaxi was established as an ecological sanctuary with unusual opportunities for nature lovers. If weather conditions permit we will trek till the Jose Rivas Refuge. Optional Lunch at Hacienda La Cienega and return to Quito .
